Year 7 Rotation

  • Students will watch part of a professional performance and analyse the performance skills and design elements they will have studied through the style of pantomime.
  • Students will look at different career pathways within production this includes; set designers, costume designers, sound engineers and lighting technicians
  • Students will learn the basic skills required for performance (facial expressions, body language, levels and a range of vocal skills).
  • Students will explore techniques related to style that includes; audience participation, breaking the fourth wall, the magic if and emotional memory.
  • Students will rehearse a script and review their development on this.

Students will not be studying Greek theatre as an additional style. This was the better option to cut due to the other two styles being clear comparisons and offers a wider spread of learning.

 

Year 8 Music Units

  • Students will watch a performance in the style of TIE (Theatre in Education) and evaluate its effectiveness.
  • Students will continue to develop their performance skills through studying and rehearsing the play ‘Chicken’.
  • Students will review and evaluate their own development and application of performance skills.
  • Students will learn how to devise their own TIE performance.
