WRA student wins Young Hero category at the BBC Radio Suffolk Make a Difference Awards

Sep 19th

We are incredibly proud of Woodbridge Road Academy student, Ozzy Rayner, who won the Young Hero award at the BBC’s Make a Difference Awards this week.

The 14 year old won the trophy due to his fundraising efforts to help his friend Jake, who also has a complex disability, go on holiday.

Ozzy has a rare genetic condition called Prader-Willi syndrome, which causes a wide range of physical symptoms including enhanced appetite, learning disabilities and very low muscle tone.

Even though his condition makes it difficult to do physical exercise, Ozzy completed a 5km run – raising money to help Jake and his family pay for their holiday.
