Outstanding Ofsted Results for Culloden

Jul 16th

We are proud to announce Culloden Primary Academy has been rated Outstanding in all categories, following a rigorous Ofsted inspection conducted on 10th and 11th June 2025.

The inspection was the school’s first full review since 2015, when it was graded Outstanding. Now, under the newly updated framework Culloden has been judged as Outstanding in all five key areas:

• Quality of Education
• Behaviour and Attitudes
• Personal Development
• Leadership and Management
• Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

In the report Ofsted inspectors described the school as a ‘calm and joyous place to learn,’ with pupils who ‘very much enjoy attending this friendly school.’ The school’s nurturing and inclusive environment, very high expectations and robust support for all pupils, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, were commended throughout.

Inspectors highlighted the ambitious and well-structured curriculum, the exceptional teaching of phonics and reading from the early years, and the enrichment opportunities that help pupils grow both academically and personally. The school’s deaf support base and targeted interventions were particularly praised for helping pupils access the curriculum with confidence.

Principal Tahreena Ward said: “The report is a clear reflection of the well-rounded pupils we have at Culloden. It is also a testament to the committed, dedicated and talented staff who work tirelessly to ensure our children receive an exceptional education.”
