Solebay Primary Academy expands with a new nursery

Solebay Primary Academy will welcome children aged between three and four for the first time with the opening of its new nursery in September 2015. The nursery will offer places for 52 young children in the local area.

Replicating the model used in Paradigm Trust’s other schools, Old Ford Primary Academy and Culloden Primary Academy, the nursery will allow the school to expand its intake whilst ensuring its pupils are well-equipped to continue their educational journey when they reach the age of five.

The school day will be the same for the nursery as it is for the school’s older pupils, commencing at 8.55am and ending at 3.30pm. It will consist of activities that will be both led by the teachers and initiated by the children themselves, as part of a model that has been recognised at Paradigm Trust’s other schools as having a significant impact on the children’s attainment and progress in the early years foundation stage.

Amanda Phillips, Executive Principal of Paradigm Trust, said.

“This new nursery is an exciting step for Solebay Primary Academy and will allow us to apply a model that has proven to be highly successful in our other schools. By introducing our pupils to Paradigm Trust’s approach to teaching and learning from an early age, we are putting them in the best possible position to hit the ground running when they reach reception. We look forward to seeing the positive effects of this in years to come.”

How to apply for a nursery place at Solebay

For a full-time nursery place from 1st September 2015, parents/carers are advised to request a nursery application form from a member of the school administration team and are urged to arrange a visit and to attend the planned “Stay and Play” sessions.
