Our admissions policy is fair, inclusive and open.

Please note: the admissions arrangements for Paradigm Trust primary schools in Tower Hamlets can be found here.

Admissions arrangements for Ipswich Academy, Murrayfield Primary Academy and Piper’s Vale Primary Academy can be found on the schools’ own websites.

We have nursery provision at all our Primary Academies. If you wish to apply for a nursery place at any of these schools please put your child’s name on the waiting list when s/he is aged two-and-six months, and fill in an application form and return it to the relevant school administration office. If there is a place for your child, we will send you an offer letter and arrange a time for you to visit the nursery or for members of staff to visit you and your child in order to assess them in their home environment.

If there are more applications than places, the following criteria for priority will apply;

  1. Children looked after by a local authority
  2. Children whose acute medical and social needs justify the allocation of a place in the school – supporting professional evidence is required
  3. Children with brothers/sisters at the school at the time of the proposed admission. Brothers/sisters must live at the same address as the child for whom the application is being made. This includes half, step and foster brothers/sisters who live at the same address.
  4. Applicants living nearest to the school as measured in a straight line on a map or GIS computerised mapping system.

NB The above criteria only relate to admissions into Paradigm Trust nursery provision.

Reception to years 1 – 6

Paradigm Trust’s primary schools in Tower Hamlets follow the local authority’s procedures for first admission into reception and for in-year admissions (admissions into schools other than first admission into reception). The relevant guidance from Tower Hamlets’ local authority is provided in the external links area on this page. All applications for admission into Paradigm Trust’s primary schools in Tower Hamlets must be made via the local authority.

Appeals

You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application for a place at a Paradigm academy is unsuccessful. Classes are only allowed to have 30 pupils. The appeal panel has limited powers in these cases and it is unlikely an appeal will be successful for reception and years 1 and 2.

Appeals must be received with 21 days. Please contact pupil services by telephoning 020 7364 5006 or the school administration office for an appeal form and guidance notes.
