Coronavirus update

Further to our message yesterday (Monday 23 March), we can confirm that from next week we will be issuing an £11.50 Tesco voucher, each week during term time, for pupils who are eligible for a free school meal. We are in the process of confirming contact details so that we can get vouchers to you (by email, by default). Please do not contact the school – wait for us to contact you – we will be in touch as soon as we can. Please do **not** come to school to collect a packed lunch. A £10 voucher will be provided, today, for this week. If government guidance changes, we will follow this. We will keep the situation under review and intend to move back to distribution of food once the current restrictions on movement are relaxed.

The Government has now provided its definition of key workers. This is available here. Parents/carers have already been asked to indicate to their child/ren’s school if they feel that they qualify as a key worker. If you have already done so, but your status may now have changed or be unclear, please contact the school. If you have not yet contacted the school to say that you qualify as a key worker, and you would like your child to be in school, please let the school know urgently so that we can make plans. Our intention is to be pragmatic in determining who qualifies as a key worker – so please do get in touch for a discussion if that would help.

Following the government’s announcement this evening that all English schools are to close at the end of this Friday 20 March, I can confirm that Paradigm Trust schools will be closed to pupils from Monday 23 March onwards. I will communicate a likely re-opening date as soon as I am in a position to do so.

These are unprecedented times and I appreciate that this will be exceptionally challenging for pupils as well as their parents/carers. We have made preparations to ensure that learning can go on in the coming weeks – physical and digital materials will be shared with pupils in the coming days and arrangements will be made for materials to be collected/distributed to pupils who are already absent.

Arrangements are being made to provide free school meals to those pupils who are eligible, and to open for pupils who are vulnerable and pupils of key workers, as defined by government. We will communicate these arrangements as soon as we can.

We will provide as much information as we can, as soon as we can.
For the remainder of this week, our intention is to keep all of our schools open. There may well need to be partial closures at some or all of all schools – these will be communicated to you absolutely as soon as we become aware of the necessity. Please check the websites of individual schools – these will include information as to any partial or full closures. We will also make announcements via text message and Twitter (and Facebook where appropriate). We will endeavour to return phone calls and emails in a timely fashion but there are likely to be greater delays than normal and I ask for your patience and understanding.

Thank you for your support.
