Coronavirus update

Following the Government’s decision that schools can re-open, we will open to Y6 pupils on Monday 1 June, mid morning, and we intend to open to pupils in nursery, reception and Y1 on 2 June. We are also making plans to provide face-to-face contact for Year 10 from 15 June but NB Government has indicated that only around a quarter of Y10 students are likely to be able to attend at any one time.

The Board has confirmed its arrangements to partially re-open schools (primary schools in the first instance) from 1 June. These arrangements are available here, together with specific safe working practices for staff working in administrative and office-based roles. The arrangements to partially re-open Ipswich Academy to Y10 students will be published as soon as these are available – which we anticipate will be sometime wc 8 June.

The Government has produced guidance on ‘What parents and carers need to know about schools and other education settings during the coronavirus outbreak.’

The Government has provided its definition of key workers. This is available here. Parents/carers have already been asked to indicate to their child/ren’s school if they feel that they qualify as a key worker. If you have already done so, but your status may now have changed or be unclear, please contact the school. If you have not yet contacted the school to say that you qualify as a key worker, and you would like your child to be in school, please let the school know urgently so that we can make plans.
